Long drum
Jong Daiko is a type of taiko drum with a slightly bulging center, often seen in stage performances, traditional music, and festivals. Known as the quintessential taiko, the Nagado Daiko is deeply familiar to the Japanese people.
Shime drum
The Shime Daiko is a type of taiko drum primarily used to play the underlying rhythm in traditional music and festivals. It is called "Shime Daiko" because the leather drumheads are stretched over metal hoops and tightened with ropes or bolts. The pitch can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the ropes, allowing players to tune it to their preferred sound.
